"I need to write better results for my efed!" Well, I'll help you out.

Before we get into that, here are some basic things you need to know about results writing: They break down into two basic categories.

'RECAP'

'Play-by-Play'

An example would be; reading WWE RAW or Smackdown recaps on WWE.com. Some fed heads who are more into realism would post their results as if they are actually transcripting an actual event that already took place instead of pretending to play out the event in text like "play by play".

Some of the benefits to writing recapped events are that they are shorter and a lot less detailed than play by play. In other words, you don't have to come up with creative commentary from your imaginary ring side broadcasting staff. There are some dedicated fed-heads who tend to disagree with this.

You want to use interviews sent in by your wrestlers and any strats that they request. Make sure to write details about what happened during each match.

For example, pretend that you're reading everything Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler say and do. Also pretend that you're reading everything that the ring announcers, referee, wrestlers, crowd, bell ringer and anything that happens during a wrestling show is in written words. This is what play by play results writing defines as. I've talked to a lot of fed heads who write this type of results only during their eFeds pay per views to make them "special" and/or live. It's really tedious and tends to burn out fed heads who have to write these things weekly. As you can probably tell, I like recapped results. It's really up to you.

With play by play, you want to have dedicated commentary. My personal staff were the ever drunken; Bruce Charming and the straight man; Charles Wright. It provided the traditional formula for Straight & Color Commentary that real wrestling uses. Even though Jim Ross now makes lots of stupid jokes now. There is usually a man who calls each move and action and a man who keeps things interesting with comedy. It's traditional, but you can do what you want.

So, any type of results you write are most likely play by play or recapped. I can't really think of anything else you can do. There is one more type of results that draw mixed feelings from the eWrestling community. They are called "simmed" results. They are basically script or software generated results. Here is an example of Simmed Results.

SIMMED:

Miles Wright: The bell rings and the action is starting. Sloth gets behind him... Reverse suplex on Logan, just devastating!
Rick Silver: Logan gets Sloth into the corner and starts stomping him mercilessly!
Rick Silver: Logan runs into the ropes and hits Sloth with a powerful clothesline!
Rick Silver: Irish whip into the ropes, and Logan clobbers him with a cross body block!
Miles Wright: Logan is choking Sloth with the ropes. The ref comes over and pulls Logan away.
Miles Wright: They lock up... and Logan pushes Sloth into the corner, and Irish whips him into the other corner!
Miles Wright: Logan gives Sloth a few quick punches!
Miles Wright: Logan runs into the ropes but Sloth grabs him and slams him into the mat!
Miles Wright: Sloth just punched Logan in the face a couple times. Sloth is really going at it!
Miles Wright: They lock up... and Logan pushes Sloth into the corner.
Miles Wright: Logan climbed to the top turnbuckle and gives a double-axhandle to Sloth!
Miles Wright: Logan plants a nice dropkick on Sloth!
Miles Wright: They lock up... and Logan pushes Sloth into the corner, and Irish whips him into the other corner!
Miles Wright: Logan runs into the ropes and knees Sloth right in the stomach! Sloth's down and he's in pain!
Miles Wright: Logan climbed to the top turnbuckle and gives a double-axhandle to Sloth!
Miles Wright: Sloth just slaps Logan in the foot... Logan falls into the ropes!
Miles Wright: Logan just punched Sloth in the face a couple times. How can the ref allow that?
Miles Wright: Logan kicks Sloth in the gut!
Rick Silver: It looks like Logan is going for Ruff Ryde!
Miles Wright: He is! And he nails Sloth with Ruff Ryde!

Rick Silver: That was a great first match... on to the next!

Where's the love? Where's the devotion to making things "real"? Imagine this is what Jim Ross and Lawler sounded like on TV everynight... would you watch? It sounds like two robots making an effort to sound human. Plus they alway tend to repeat moves and really don't have much imagination. If you are a lazy bastard you can find simulators by searching your favorite search engine for the words "sim", "simmed match", "simmed results", "zeus", "simulator", you might want to include wrestling in your search. I'm not going to bother listing any here. Sorry.

Keep a few things in mind when you write your results:

Pay close attention to what your wrestlers write in their roleplays.
Remember or write down each wrestler's finishing moves or move set.
Don't just have people "cheering" for no reason, don't pretend you are the best federation in the world, unless you are
Don't use pointless or bathroom booking. Plan your ideas and play them out.
Require help, don't burn yourself out. Ask members to "help"- people like to help.
Ask your members to send in angles, don't allow yourself to do EVERYTHING.

Results are simply a means to show "Who Won", I don't feel that they have to be super perfect. Most people don't bother to read them, they just scan to their match to see if they won. Some people like to read their own matches. I'd say very few read the whole result. Don't kill yourself making them the longest detailed results all the time.

There are some "Elite" feds out there who base their reputations on good results. That's fine. But you keep in mind that this is a game, not a cock-size competition. Have fun, if you consider "fun" writing essays and dissertations, then so be it. I consider myself a writer, and writers write, A LOT. However, it's not very fun writing a 400 page essay each week as a past time.

Judging:

Last thing I'll cover here is how to grade or judge who wins a match. Since it's really up to you what kind of grading scale or whatever. I'll just teach you what's traditional in this game.

Always judge the creativity over anything else.
Look at how it's presented. Presentation is a plus.
Check spelling, even though it shouldn't matter THAT much.
NEVER judge html. It's not a factor.
NEVER judge humor over intensity or vice versa. Rather look at how well it's written.
BE FAIR! Never let a buddy win or a family member just because they are close to you.
Don't reveal who wins until the results are posted. Even if they ask.
This ain't school. It doesn't NEED to have every word spelled correctly and speak in proper grammar.

Those are the traditional unwritten rules that I've picked up on in my 5 years and about 5000 efeds I've consulted. So the rest is up to you, there is no limit your imagination because your imagination is simply waves of energy. Energy is limitless. And that was the GAYEST possible way I could end this
