EBWF Seeks New Members

I've no notion to to dress this up with claims that we're the best or the greatest, most cutting edge efed going. We are however a dedicated group participating in an efed that has been open, and operated by the same person, for 11 years.

We are and always have been a real wrestler efed. {to mix it up, the family who owns the fed are CAWs.}

We feature one show per week, with one PPV monthly, and we are still website based with a forum for Roleplays. Our talent spans from newbies to folks who have been RPing for over a decade. We are highly involved in well designed, thought out storylines, but don't mind a member who likes to participate in matches without the General Roleplaying.

We are laid back, but results are on time, and of good quality. We recently rolled out a brand new website design. Check us out and feel free to join or email me with any questions about our community.

Fed looks great! Pro website. Board looks active from what I can see...

One issue -

I looked for like 10 minutes and couldn't figure out what EBWF meant.  Maybe I'm blind though.

Other than that, this looks like a real solid place if you are looking for real wrestlers.

That's kind of funny/awkward that you should mention that.

My 15 year old self decided "Extreme Best Wrestlers Federation" sounded like a super cool name. My 22 year old self realized that it was probably the stupidest name of all time. So a few years ago, we take the Vince McMahon route that EBWF is a brand and doesn't have to stand for anything. It's a sort of running joke in the fed.

Thanks for the kind words! :)

I also meant to point out in the original post that we don't require carbon copies of television characters. If you wanted to play ODB as a nun, or Santino as an MMA fighter, people are more than welcome.

This is a real wrestler, site based fed with it's own phpBB hosted forums.

The main website looks great.  It's a little bit more flash than substance, but the basic information is there for you to find.  Roster looks medium sized based on the cards, and something I like is that when you click on the card, the show archives are right there, and they title them kind of like a TV show would title a sitcom.

Just to break off for a moment.  I've been on this site for YEARS now, but I just noticed a smiley.  This one:

 :STAB:

I thought for years it looked like a guy stabbing his own hand.  I just noticed it's a voodoo doll.  Huh... you learn something new every day.

Anyway, The site really is VERY well put together, and is easy to navigate and has no broken links.

The forums are hosted on the site, which I am a big fan of.  SMF and phpBB are easy enough to use and have lots of support for them now, and if you have a site you should be able to install and use them on your own.  This gives you greater control over your forums, specifically with copywritten information.  For years I had a ProBoards forum, but finally left a number of years ago because too many were getting deleted because someone had a WWE wrestler as a sig.  This way, if anyone is going to take down a forum it would be the fed-head.  You can also back the databases up in the event the site disappears or is deleted by some idiot that you stupidly gave access to it, and it just solves alot of problems in the long run.

That said, these forums seem a BIT out of place.  They don't match the main site.  I imagine they revamped one or the other and went with a different color scheme.  If I were them, I'd find a skin to better match the main site so it matches.  The banner at the top says they've been around for 12 years.  Title histories show the fed going back to 2002, but I could only find shows, cards and posts back into early 2012.  Maybe they lost alot of info, not sure.

The forums are well put together, and have lots of activity from what I can see.  You can see the basic info that is also found on the front site, and you can see the Roleplays.  Not sure if they are hidden or not, but I didn't see any OOC stuff.  Some blogs and "phones" and that was about it.  They must have a SB since there are rules for it, but again it isn't visible to me or it's deactivated.

That said, this is a really well put together, well handled fed from what I saw.  If you're into real wrestlers and are looking for a well-established fed for them, this is it.  One of those rare, GOOD real wrestler feds.

You'll find there's nothing about us that 'sucks'. However, I've come to the conclusion that I'd rather dress as a Nazi and visit Auschwitz than listen to/read anything you have to say.

If you're having host problems I feel bad for you son.  I got 99 problems but a glitch ain't one.
