[Roleplay] Global Extreme Wrestling
« on: April 20, 2009, 08:15:15 PM »

Year Opened:
2001

Real/Fake wrestlers:
Fake

Recruiter Notes:
As the name suggests, Global Extreme Wrestling leans strongly towards extreme rules variant matches, though it does not feature them exclusively. GEW is the original home of many dangerous match types including the Concrete Cage Match, Death Bed Match and Journey To Hell Match. Issues at the centre of angles in GEW's history include rape, incest, drug abuse and attempted murder, and flagship show Chaos' late night time slot means profanity is uncensored. The net result of this is that the company has a strong outlaw image, which many members of the roster take pride in playing up to.

GEW started off when MSN groups were cool. We were primarily a real-wrestler federation up until around 2006, when an influx of original characters appeared. Since then, we have phased out the real wrestlers completely and now only accept applications from original characters.

We have one show per week (Thursday Night Chaos) with the deadline being Wednesday night. The limit for Chaos roleplays is 2, with only one allowed in the final 24 hours leading to deadline. Results are posted on Thursday's and are full length and never summarized. We hold 9 PPV events each year; all are held on Sunday nights with the roleplay being Saturday night/Sunday morning. The PPV rp limit is 4, following the rule of the Chaos ones with only one allowed in the last 24 hours.

The homepage is updated regularly, with results of the latest show and the Power Five ranking the top five wrestlers of that week. We also have several extras for people including a radio show, graphics (wallpapers and userbars) and merchandise (currently under construction). We boast specific and visually appealing banners for PPVs, characters, our running program Chaos and others. Every wrestler has his/her own locker rooms to engage in additional and developmental storylines.

In GEW, there are five illustrious prizes to be won. Each boasts a certain value of that division. Our World Heavyweight Championship showcases those who have overcome all the odds and have metaphorically reached the top of the mountain in GEW. The Omega Championship houses much prestige within the promotion as it displays the great skill and ability by those who seek it's grandeur. Our International Championships sets on display the best of every nation around the globe that can be offered while the Extreme Chaos championship showcases a division of athletes who shine in a hardcore environment. And finally the Tag-Team Championships shows that two heads are indeed better than one, allowing the friendships and complex natures of two individuals to mesh as the best cohesive unit possible.

Wrestlers can hold both a singles championship and a tag-team championship simultaneously, but are not permitted to hold two singles at the same time, to keep things open and fair to others.

Why you should join us:
We boast an active and friendly OOC atmosphere and a team of dedicated staff that are always on hand to help out in any way, whether that be to answer questions, help with storylines and character development or to give advice on roleplaying.

We're a very welcoming bunch who enjoy having a few laughs together OOC and making sure nobody feels left out. We do our best to put out quality shows and make sure everybody has a storyline and a direction while helping the less experienced roleplayers amongst us to grow and get the most enjoyment they can out of our little game.

Come join the Chaos!
(Pun totally intended)

I'm a member of GEW as of just recently (within the past week) and will testify that they are nothing but great people. All of them are fun to just talk to on a personal level aside from Fed related activities. When it comes down to business, each member has such a great attitude and personality to handle that nothing short of magic happens. I go by "TLK" there just as I do here and have no problem if you'd like to get in contact. I'd be more than willing to help you along the way at GEW! Hope to see you all there!

Holla playas,

I'm Sam, more commonly known in this crazy world of internet wrestling as Baby Dogg. Along with K.C. McGrath I'm co-admin of GEW. If you have any questions about our fed feel free to hit me up on instant messenger or drop me a PM either here on the GEW forum, and I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have about us.

Woot time to give the GEW's some luvs!!

Been at GEW longer than I have in any other place recently. Has a solid tight knit group of handlers that are easy to get along with. And here's the real rub, OWNERS WHO CARE! They do their best to get results up on time, and do try to help bring in the new guys... Leese makes scary threats sometimes, but it's ok.

Feel free to message me on board if ya need anything upon joining.(I r Shane Tallin) (Don't know why ya would though.)

GEW is an affiliate with the CWC. Good over all place. Simple site but also easy to access. Boards seem active and plenty of roleplayers. Even though, today, im not a fan of the "extreme" feds, they also dont abuse the extreme gimmick. I recommend it.... Plus "GEW" sounds funny.

I remember KC from a fed we were in together at one time. I trust this person to run a good efed, as well as the staff. Good job, guys. *thumbsup*

We had a big debate once about whether it was "Jew" or "Goo". I must be sad lol, I say it as the three separate letters.

I've been pronouncing it as it's written; Gew. XD

Anyway, I'm one of the newer members and I think that GEW is probably one of the best e-feds I came across. When I was looking for a good e-fed to join, GEW was one of the only ones to not get screened out and I joined without any prompting by anyone else. That's a testament to how attractive the place is.

I, personally, hate the name, but everything else about GEW is awesome. In my view, it's probably one of the best because of its all around smexiness. One of the most alluring aspects is the very warm community, which keeps the OOC forums surging with activity. Beyond that, it's very welcoming, so the oft-present hierarchy isn't prominent, which is definitely a plus.

It also helps that I'm there and I'm just awesome. XD There seem to be quite a lot of new people joining and in addition to the veterans, there should be a skill level for everyone. I went through just about every fed on the e-wikia and GEW is the only one I'm currently participating in.

The only (to my knowledge) 1980s e-fed around.

I was in GEW a little while ago, before retiring from fedding, but if I ever return I would go to GEW.

The place has been around for years, the place has always interesting angles and the fourm is always a buzz with interesting thing random and normal.

Now KC is one hell of an owner, she is certainly one of the best fed head around, i can remember someone who truely puts her heart and soul into a fed.

I still have people asking me if I know of a good fed, and I always send them to GEW, its the place to be.

Yay, love filled posts! But seriously, I've been with GEW since May of 08 and it has been the only fed that has kept my attention. Most times I join a fed and lose interest within a week, or think the people there are total douche bags, but that's not how it is at GEW. Everyone goes out of their way to make everyone else feel welcome, and people try really hard to create interesting, well-thought roleplays and results. Leese and Sam are truly dedicated to the site and are willing to do whatever it takes to make it successful.

If you don't believe us, just reread all the member posts on this site. Every single person mentions the same exact thing, and it's not because we're unoriginal or lazy, it's because what we say is true, fools.

So join!

I've had these guys bookmarked for a while and with good reason. I know it is a fed that will stay around.

Leese has always been a solid person on MSN and I am a bonafide mark for baby Dogg.

GEW is worth a look no matter whether you're a new fedder or not.

Baby Dogg has to be the only character I've seen marked on by someone. xp
