| Hello, Kut here. This column was written by Ian, owner of T.F.W.F. You can probably tell by the 467 times he mentions the fact that he owns T.F.W.F in his column. he put his heart, soul and basiacally whined until I used his column on RoughKut. So you happy Ian?? HUH? HERE'S YOUR F'N COLUMN!! J/K, you know I love ya like a fat chick. ~Kut The Fed-Head Slump~by Ian of TWFWRESWWERRF You see being a slight dumbass, but not total I figured Kut wanted an article based around an Owner’s interpretation of the E-Wrestler Slump. After reading Barx rather coherent and pretty decent comments I decided it would be a waste of my precious time doing that and therefore decided maybe Kut would like a wee article written for the actual e-fed owners out there who are thinking of giving up the game or have absolutely no idea were to start. So let’s start with the common moans and gripes facing the e-fed owners out there… ‘Oh Mr. Monks I can’t get anyone to join my fed. Where can I find someone?’ Ok if you are now reading the statement and still wondering were to find rpers then you truly are a dumbass. You are at ROUGKUT this fed actually has a database of rpers here looking for an e-fed you stupid freak, but let’s say your e-fed is so freakishly crap and all of the database guys have joined somewhere else like T.F.W.F. (which I hear is an awesome fed) or some sub standard thing. What do you do? - Yahoo Chat: Believe it or not even the Great Ian Monks has gone in times of desperation to this place to find a diamond in the rough and believe me they are out there. My Ian Super Tip here is simple try to find UK based people before USA people. Now this might sound incredibly stupid, but trust me it isn’t. The majority of USA guys on Yahoo tend to be WWE marks and tend to go on there all the fricking time and tend folks…to have joined like three thousand feds as The Rock, HHH or whatever. In the UK roleplaying games over the net are not as popular basically because we just don’t do that shit, this therefore leads to your UK Yahoo Chatter being firstly interested in wrestling and secondly not knowing there are a shit loads of better e-feds out there than your piece of crap. Conclusion…you will get a half intelligent, non mark who has NEVER seen an e-fed before and thinks you are a fucking genius for what you have. If this isn’t working for Yahoo does also have user rooms. Yes, these rooms can be dodgy so be forewarned, but there are actually specific roleplaying rooms for wrestling fans on them and is an opportunity to get your e-fed out there a few more tips here:
1) Don’t advertise your e-fed in the room it makes you look like a loser, PM people instead it is more one on one there. Think of it as customer relations, plus people might have questions. 2) If someone says No or tells you to piss off, DON’T CALL THEM A MORON or anything like that. Remember you are trying to make them think they are missing out on something, if you just turn round and say ‘Thanks anyway’ you leave the person thinking ‘Hey he isn’t so bad, maybe I will take a look at his fed’ after all nobody is going to turn round to you and say ‘Damn that mother fucker told me to go screw myself, I’ll teach him a lesson by joining his e-fed! That will show him.’. Think like a salesman in other words. - Steal Someone elses: Not necessarily the most ethical alternative for getting rpers, but let’s face it the entire RKW E-fed database are having fights over who can now join T.F.W.F. and Yahoo Chat loves Ian Monks so much they have renamed Yahoo ‘Ianhoo’. So it’s now up to you to become devious. Go to another fed have a look around, not only is this a good way to get ideas for your own fed, but you can pick up the atmosphere of that fed and see who you might be able to coax across the pond. Ian Super Tip Don’t ask the World Champion involved in a great feud to jack it all in for your fed. That is just plain stupid, your best bet is to focus on the guys not in the big picture, let’s face it you have no rpers so anything will do. You talk to these guys and make out you are not interested in Super Cool Dude the Champion, but in them because unlike their current e-fed owner you want to use their character and gimmick in the right way in a fed which is just starting out (note actually know what their character and gimmick is don’t just repeat what I said!). You are learning a valuable lesson here much like real wrestling the e-fed world is full of egos! The more you play on it the better you will do and if you want to be really devious the best way to get guys to leave a fed…is to destroy it from the inside. Just ask the people at ECHA whom T.F.W.F. destroyed from the inside or DWIWF whom were destroyed from the inside by King Kole a real shit of a person. Ok so hopefully from My own two tips and RKW’s database you can find a few guys to join your fed. Wohoo! Let’s rock and roll. But here is another problem! ‘Oh Mr. Monks my site looks like shit how do I do graphics?’ Ummm sorry do I look like I know anything about graphics. I don’t even know how to make a graph in excel or word. So you know what I did I actually asked for some help. Originally I put some money together and bought graphics and web design help off of a company called Ran The Star, however that is me and my dedication, we are assuming you don’t have the same or you wouldn’t be reading this looking for an easy option. Basically this is were you have to step up yourself, there are possibly free graphic design places out there who if you ask them to help you in return for them receiving credit for the graphics then you might be in luck, I do think this is doubtful though. I personally have the services of Guille Pino an e-fedder and friend of mine who is pretty handy with the graphics side of things. Before you ask he will probably charge you for help so that’s entirely up to you, but what does Pino and Ran The Star have in common which I don’t have? The learned to make graphics dumbass! There are lots of online tutorials and books you can buy on making simple graphics with Photoshop and shit like that before you say anything it could actually serve you another purpose outside the e-fed world so save up and buy a fucking book. Alternatively if you are running one of those personally detested WWE feds, you can nick all your logos from them and even go one stage further by using a wrestling game on a console to take pictures of matches and post them on your site. Ian Super Tip Originally T.F.W.F. made CAWS on the N64 Wrestlemania 2000 and took pictures with a capture card on the PC. In 2000 it was one of the things which made us stand out from a design point of view from other feds. Now we use Poser and Kut has got a perfectly good tutorial somewhere, if you don’t like that you can search on the web. Poser can be bought or downloaded if you are smart enough. These give bios for your wrestlers that little something extra. Ok we can now assume you have a few rpers, you didn’t buy Pino, but you taught yourself to make a few simple logos. Ok champ your almost there, let’s get started… ‘Oh Mr. Monks I don’t know how to write a decent fed.’ Ok if you don’t know how to do this my question would be why the fuck do you own a fed. Anyone who says they can’t write, organize feuds or anything for a fed should not be a fed owner. That is what a fed owner does. He doesn’t sit there basking in the glory of a title win he is the man that makes people visit the site to allow their imaginations to picture through his words what that title win was like for one of his rpers. But let’s say you can write, but just not well, Ian Super Tip DON’T WRITE CURRENT WWE STORYLINES. This is the most stupid thing you could do because you as an e-fed are copying the real life shit from TV. Why the fuck would anyone want to read that when they can see it on TV done well. If you are completely out of ideas research other e-feds see what storylines they are doing, don’t copy them because that is just sad and you will soon run out and if your rpers realize they are copied they will go to the originals. While your reading them think what you might have done different, look at WWE gimmicks and see what you might have done different, if you think you can’t do this then think of all the times you have said to yourself ‘You know when Kane chokeslammed everyone, wouldn’t it have been cool if he would have dragged Billy Gunn down to the ring and taken a mighty pooh in his mouth because Gunn can’t wrestle for shit.’ Ok that is a lame example, although I would like to see it, but you get the point, your imagination has thought of an alternative to what you have read or seen, that is how you write for an e-fed. Even myself who applauds himself on originality find myself getting to my originality from a point of something I have read or seen. Vince gets to where he is by reading my site and then twisting it a little, the son of a bitch! And he makes billions off of me! The fucker! Anyway, you see where I am going with this. If you are stuck with this another good way is to ask opinions. That is what makes forums like RK great is there are smart fedders here who will tell you stuff if your not a moron when you ask it. Even if we don’t because we are too bust watching Hail to The King and Hardcore Legend call each other gay over and over your own rpers will help. You’ll be surprised what response you will get if you turn round to a rper and say ‘Greg Brady where do you want to go with this feud with Marcia?’. So we have rpers, presentation both written and graphical now you need to ask yourself what makes me different from all the rest. ‘Oh Mr. Monks how can I be different from the rest?’ I just said that you whiney bitch shut up! I can’t give you a full answer here because what makes you different from the rest also makes you different from me and if I knew that I would have already used it! All I can say is try and make people feel welcome on your site, try and decide what standard of rpers you want and what you don’t, try and do things like regular updates, polls, questionnaires, games, chat rooms all the little extra things which make a difference. In my opinion the best thing you can do is acknowledge the rest of the fedding world. I personally have made note in my own results to ‘rival competition’ in the e-fedding world because I want to try and make it as real as possible. For me I never worry about other feds and what they are doing I am concentrated on my own efforts in T.F.W.F. so why not acknowledge them? At the end of the day this is a small guideline hopefully trying to look at ways around problems so many of you seem to have with maintaining and starting e-feds. I am not an expert by any means, but if you are reading this which will only be on Rought.com the best e-fed resource site on the net you already have the rest of the tools to get out there and do it.
