BluePrints
As with any other building, you must start with a foundation. The foundation of a fed is the basic HTML code.
  • <HTML> <HEAD><TITLE></TITLE></HEAD><BODY></BODY></HTML>

That is your simple foundation, easy huh?

Then, you must add a title to your fed. You probably already have one picked out. You add this between the title tags.

<TITLE> XPW: Xtreme Pro Wrestling</TITLE>

But make sure it's between the "head" tags! That covers your foundation. Now, you have to plan how your fed will appear to others.

<BODY BGCOLOR="000000" TEXT="FFFFFF" LINK="FFFCCC">

As you can see, I added three new code words to the <BODY> tag:

  • BGCOLOR (background color of the page)
  • TEXT (Color of the ltters on your screen)
  • LINK (Color of the links you click)

You can also add VLINK and ALINK, ALINK only works for computers. VLINK is the color AFTER you click a link.

AFTER, you add the colors of your fed, you need to decide what you want the frame of your fed to look like. I most usually use a table. Let me explain..

<TABLE><TR><TD></TR></TD>

That is a basic table. I'll show you what it looks like below..

<TABLE BORDER="2">

<TR><TD> <TD> <TD>
<TR><TD> <TD> <TD>
<TR><TD> <TD> <TD>

</TR></TD></TABLE>

A table can do many things to make you fed look neat and pretty damn cool. You can make a table look like almost ANYTHING! But mostly I use a table to organize my links. It can get pretty complicated because sometimes you have to place a TABLE inside a TABLE to make it look the way you want. Let's see an example of a basic side-bar fed made with a table...

<TABLE BORDER="2" WIDTH="100%">

<TR> <TD BGCOLOR="000000" HEIGHT="300" WIDTH="50%" VALIGN="TOP" ALIGN="LEFT">

<A HREF="http://URL"> Name of my link! </A> <P>

<A HREF="http://URL"> Name of my link! </A> <P>

<A HREF="http://URL"> Name of my link! </A> <P>

<A HREF="http://URL"> Name of my link! </A> <P>

<A HREF="http://URL"> Name of my link! </A> <P>

<A HREF="http://URL"> Name of my link! </A> <P>

<A HREF="http://URL"> Name of my link! </A> <P>

<A HREF="http://URL"> Name of my link! </A> <P>

<A HREF="http://URL"> Name of my link! </A> <P>

<TD BGCOLOR="000000" HEIGHT="300" WIDTH="50%" VALIGN="TOP" ALIGN="LEFT">

Did you notice the new code words inside the <TD> tag? It's important you follow them carefully or your page wont look right. The BGCOLOR you know already, the VALIGN="TOP or CENTER or BOTTOM" and ALIGN="LEFT or RIGHT or CENTER" code words tell the browser where to put the contents of the <TD> tag. If you don't use the VALIGN and ALIGN code words the contents of the TD cell will default to center everything and that looks bad to me, personally. Let's put it all together....

NOTES: REMEMBER to follow each example exactly as I put them.You can change any heights widths or percents to any number you want that fits in the screen's limits. Percents go up to 100%, widths and heights can go up to 1000 I believe (I'm not sure). You can change the colors with a color chart I'll link below. With time, you will be able to make feds looks exactly how you want them to. ALSO, you can put as many new rows and cells as you want. You MUST practice. DO NOT change the <TR> tag, it only makes a new row of cells. The <TD> tag is the cell. EVERYTHING that you want people to see goes between the <BODY></BODY> tags. You must remember to close each tag that applies.
