The other problem I see now, going in with this whole thing, is how they “sit” on said titles. They take something that they can’t win anywhere else, kills the love and/or drive for a hobby that they love and then deny people from taking the title from them saying it is a “stupid idea because that would come from nowhere. Come back when you have a GOOD idea.”

Saying things like that makes me wonder how staff members are STILL working with this fed/fedhead.

99% of the time it is an excuse for the owner to have a belt because he can’t do it elsewhere, but it is possible, under a more lax definition of fedhead, to have it be fair.

Condition 1: The fedhead is really just the guy who pays for the domain while essentially a large group of people (staff) run the site together.

Condition 2: The voting/decision making process is completely transparent to the entire fed and there is never a withholding of any staff member votes or reasons why someone may have lost.

That said, is there ever a GOOD reason to just put a belt on the fedhead? No.

Well, I don’t have a problem with “staff” holding titles. I think the roster should be active with administrative functions.

The problem is when the OWNER is holding a title. I just can’t think of a single good reason for this.

Can you?

I agree with what you have said Jiso, but the problem (and I know of it first hand) with the example I gave is this…her whole reasoning behind it is no one gave her a shot and held her down and yada yada because “i’m a girl” so I made sure they knew I could do it here.

As I said, her own fed. One title I can see…but two, going on three AND one of them being the top one…no. That is too much.

This is a touchy subject because it is possible to do this objectively. I’ve worked with staff members who were champions (including the boss) and when I have match decisions have been judged by other people in the fed who weren’t involved in the match at hand.

I can see how a lot of people would do this just to “hold championships” which is a joke in itself but when dealing with honest people the issue doesn’t come up.

I just read this article and, well low and behold, someone sees what I do. Apparently, in a fed I recently left, it is ok for the owner to have 7 or 8 characters, one be the World Champion, one be the Hardcore or “Xtreme” champion, and is now in the running with THREE of her teams against one lone team of different handlers.

Her reason…”It’s not my fault I am a better roleplayer.”

To be a fedhead and hold titles is VERY ridiculous. As you said, it shows she couldn’t hack it anywhere else and gives her the right to manipulate people into judging her matches her way, which is very unfair to those who have stuck their hard work into it, only to be called stupid and not playing their character right.

This was an excellent read and feel many fed heads should read this and think. Now we know why e-fedding is going down the drain.

While I could POSSIBLY see a fed-head getting a lower level title for some sort of storyline, or something that they were working on, I can see NO reason that they should EVER hold the World Title or \Big\ Title in their fed.

I’ve heard alot of excuses of \My World Champ Quit\ and stuff like that. Ok, so they quit. You didn’t have a #1 Contender to put it on? You didn’t have ONE person on the roster worthy of holding it? And then you wonder why your World Champ quit. Probably has something to do with the same reasons you put a belt on yourself.

If I’m reviewing a fed, and the fed head is the World Champ, I see major problems with that.

I have seen many feds where fed heads compete and get titles in their own feds….i personally do not think it is fair, even if other people judge those matches, they should not compete for titles….staff members are ok imo, most staff members are just match writers anyway…

fed heads i don’t mind being involved in the fed as rpers because yes some do have the time, but they shouldn’t be able to compete for titles.

I have seen staff members as the top champions and well it takes away from the rest of the talent.

Some true stuff here. I personally hate it when fed heads are champions on their own fed, it’s like, how is that rewarding for you? When I won our world title in my fed (an unexpected but fair victory through a tournament) I couldn’t wait to lose it.
