Fortunately for you, I feel like writing tonight.

For the 3 or 4 of you that actually keep tabs on this site’s updates, you’ll recognize what an “X-fed” is according to RK lore. It’s a simple formula that can keep you relevant and protect you from being the butt of ewrestling jokes.

X=n00b²

This boils down to an even simpler meaning: Be Original.

There is no strict criteria, nor is there a specific category for an x-fed. The name comes from an influx of “Xtreme Pro this” or “Pro Wrestling Xtreme that” back in the 90s. The lack of originality became quite visably ridiculous for a long time and even tho the “Xtreme” fad is dead, it’s ghost is still haunting us in the form of other various names.

There’s a few names that come to mind that will automatically give you an X-fed status.

1. Global in the title. Global in an efed’s name is so overused, that it needs to be killed. Once  there were over 10 feds with Global in the title in my efed database and many of them had the exact same name.

2. Total in the title. Do we really have to explain this one? TNA had an original name, and by borrowing it, YOU DON’T.

3. Elite. My second efed was “Elite Pro Wrestling” and I cannot tell you how many feds of the same name I’ve seen since.

4. There’s a new X-fed growing in popularity “Project: Blank” Or anything with project in the title. I’ve seen it far too often now. Time to move on, new fed-heads.

5. Alliance in the title… as I type this there are 8 feds with Alliance in the title in my efed database… on the FIRST PAGE. Pick any of these feds randomly and simply take away “Alliance” and the name still is just as effective. Alliance is a completely unnecessary word for a wrestling organization. Instead of HELL WRESTLING ALLIANCE, why not just HELL WRESTLING? I fail to see the point of the word. It’s redundant, and it repeats itself. That was a joke.

These are just a few examples. Of course there’s more.

It’s fine to have “Wrestling” in the title, let’s not get nit picky. It’s smart to have the name of your business include what it consists of.  I don’t even really mind “Pro” even tho it’s way over-used. It is afterall, pro-wrestling based.

I had a guy, who meant no harm come to me recently on the forums and pretty much ask me how to come up with an original name. You see, this is the exact opposite of being original. The name of your fed must mean something to you. Must be an original concept in your brain.

For instance, RoughKut Wrestling. :) Even tho I’ve actually believe it or not had someone rip my fed’s name off, it’s an original name that you really can’t see anyone else using.

Over the years I’ve seen some quite unique names. Brawlers on a Budget for instance. Joke fed, I think but still an efed.Fast Action Grappling is not only an original name, but a funny abbreviation.

There’s few tips you can follow to have an original name, even if you aren’t creative enough to come up with a P2W.

Where is the fed based? Deep South Wrestling is a good name already in use.

What does your fed do? High Energy Wrestling is a good name for a cruiser weight based fed.

I’d stay away from too many words. SUPER HIGH IMPACT TENSION might sound cute, but it’s harder to remember and it’s abbreviation would cause some wide eyes.

That’s all I really need to add at this time. Have fun and be original!
